Lost Momentum
A night of booze will never be celebrated without the company of friends. I usually drink with close friends. But last night, two in our group of four I have known better only these months recent. Three bottles of San Mig Light – that’s all I can manage. And shots of Vodka ice too.
The place was filled by young people. On the menu, special prices are offered to students. It appeared to me that they were all that were present in the place (except for not many of us who have graduated from college; but with our youthful faces, we can be mistaken as students). I bet many of them came from the nearby Jesuit university, and the remaining few from the state university I graduated from. It was easy for me to assume that the mere presence of those kids in that place and the way they consumed bottle after bottle, they came from well-off families.
The atmosphere was alienating to someone as mundane as me. Indeed, I drink occasionally with close friends. But I don’t like drinking in bars. I have this sort of aversion towards crowds…
