Tita Cory

One full week has passed and somehow, I still couldn't believe that the country's icon of democracy, Tita Cory Aquino, is gone. Prior to this writing, I just saw the video of Kris Aquino delivering her eulogies to her mom to a crowd of thousands in the Manila Cathedral. People have gathered to be one with the mourning of Tita Cory's family, gone out of their way to pay respect and honor to a lady of principle and great sincerity. Tita Cory, though she had ups and downs during her term as president, was successful in uniting the Filipino people and in rehabilitating democracy in the Philippines... up to her last breath. For that, she and her husband Ninoy Aquino will leave a lasting mark not just in history books but in the essence of being Filipino.
